(‘Tulsi’, 2020) A friend and mentor who paints consistently urged me to try colour pencil for years, and has always encouraged me to paint. She also advised trying to draw colours that aren’t real. For this image, I oversaturated the colours, a technique I enjoyed. The other technique I enjoyed was trying to make this drawing look like a painting. The subject here is Tulsi Gabbard.
