(‘Eden’, 2019) One idea I was once possessed by was to acquire a mirror-reflective axe, then draw something reflected in it. My super-handy cousin polished up an old hatchet, my friend posed for a shoot, and I had so many fun reference images to choose from.
Axes as symbols of creation, going from asleep to awake, in the dark. I think these themes just made me think of the earliest moments in the Garden.
